GD955-7R is designed to deliver higher productivity and efficiency in demanding mining operations. The long wheelbase geometry, characteristic of Komatsu graders, provides stability while still allowing sharp turning through wide steering and articulation angles. This maneuverability enables the machine to turn smoothly on a 24 m wide road without wheel cut-off, while the extended blade width and wide articulation angle ensure a broader and more efficient working range.
Building on our experience in motor grader development, the GD955-7R retains the proven industrial-standard lever pattern to provide precise and intuitive operation. The GD955-7R continues to feature a steering wheel. The redesigned control system reduces arm movement and relieves operator stress thanks to an ergonomic console layout. In addition, increased space behind the seat allows greater rearward seat adjustment, further improving cab comfort and operator positioning.
The frame is strong against bending and twisting due to large section structure with high tension steel plates, simplified structure, and optimum plate thickness. The durability life is twice as long as before
Large hinged, lockable doors are standard and provide easy access to the engine and radiator service points, allowing spin-on filters to be changed quickly. Circuits and fuse sizes are clearly identified in the fuse panel located in the cab, simplifying troubleshooting. The tandem oil check point is conveniently positioned at the end of the tandem, while refueling from the ground ensures safe and easy operation. Engine oil, hydraulic oil, and coolant drains are all strategically placed for efficient maintenance. In addition, the tandem axle step features a punched metal foot plate to provide stable footing during inspection and service tasks.
